- Where have they Gone ?
-
- Over the years the number of Distilleries in Scotland have been reduced.
- This has in some
part been brought about by the rationalisation that has taken place within the marketplace
, with the large distillery owners removing smaller less productive distilleries
, whilst retaining the larger more economical
distilleries.
This removed some interesting and unique whiskies which will never return.
- There is also
a book written on those sadly missed ....however @ rare drams we are pleased to
include some of these in our British Columbia offerings.
From 15 to 40 year olds we offer single cask strength whisky from distilleries long since
closed: but don't tell anyone there is only a wee drop left.
Port Ellen, St Magdalene, (from the Glens) Glen Albyn , Glen Esk, Glen Mhor, Glenlassaugh,
Glenugie, Glenury as well as Littlemill, Lochside, Millburn,Bladnoch & Inverleven.
-
- Rare Drams
have also been the first to include the Famous Single Grains of
Caledonian and Dumbarton distilleries, bottled after 40 years of slumber.
What a revelation !
